On our final full day in Alaska we drove from Denali to Anchorage. We got a special treat when we stopped in the little town of Talkeetna. We got to enjoy watching the 4th of July Parade. What they didn't have in large floats, bands or groups of people, they made up for in making noise! They had every piece of emergency equipment blaring sirens, bagpipes, and even the Alaska Railroad got in on the festivities by blasting the train horn! Here Uncle Sam waves to the crowd as he walks by on stilts! It was one of the most memorable 4th of July celebrations we've ever experienced!
