When I first spotted this little terrestrial orchid as we were driving through the mountains to go to La Fortuna, I was chomping at the bit to stop and get a closer look! Unfortunately, there was no possible place to stop. Willy, our guide, assured I would have another opportunity to see it again on the trip. Sure enough, as we were driving to Monteverde 3 days later, I spotted it on one of our stops. :) It is a very common wildflower in the mountains of Costa Rica.
