We stopped along the highway so I could get another shot of the Grass Pink Orchid. What a lucky break that was! I noticed a green state truck parked along the road and a lady with a GPS. I went to talk to her and she told me she was counting a very rare wildflower. I asked if she could tell me what it was (sometimes the flowers can't be revealed, which I can understand), she said it was called Harper's Beauty. She then took me across the highway and showed me a yellow flower. She explained that the plant grows ONLY in the Apalachicola National Forest. What a great opportunity it was to get to see this beautiful wildflower! I would have not been able to identify it if she had not told me what it was. I was glad I got to meet her.
