We came back to the The Pine Tree trail two days later with Shelley, my cousin's 14 year-old daughter, to hike the entire 4.2-mile loop. The trail has some huge, very old Alligator juniper trees. Shelly and I stood by this tree to give some perspective to its huge size. The trees get their "reptilian" name due to their scaly bark.
