During one of the rare times that I was in the lead on our hike at Dripping Springs, I noticed this beautiful lizard on the trail. I had my macro lens on my camera, not the best choice of lenses for this situation. However, I was afraid if I had to take time to change it the lizard might run off. So, I took a photo and then moved a little closer. Amazingly, this guy allowed me to get within a couple of feet, so I was able to get some really good shots before he ran off to a hole under a rock.
