Yes, there really is such a thing as a Farkleberry! It is a member of the Heath family, along with blueberries, azaleas, and rhododendron. The pretty little white, bell-shaped flowers form inedible berries in the fall. This beautiful butterfly is a Red-spotted Purple. This plant was blooming at the top of the Angel Falls Overlook trail at Big South Fork.
