I had a very hard time getting used to calling this flower "Mountain Laurel"! It is in the Pea family, the plant that we call Mountain Laurel in the Appalachian Mountains is in the Heath family and looks nothing like this. The flowers of this plant reminded me a bit of Kudzu blossoms, they too smell like grape drink!
