Leech

I must admit, leeches rank pretty high on the "icky scale"! However, I was happy to get this photo to add to my Critters Gallery. Leeches, like earthworms, are Annelids, or segmented worms. Unlike earthworms, they are "carnivores" in that they obtain food by sucking blood from fish and even humans. Fortunately, this aquatic species doesn't get much longer than about 2". The head is on the left side of this photo.
