Not many plants are immune to the embrace of the dodder plant. This strange orange vine is a parasite, it obtains water and nutrients from its host. Since it has no chlorophyll, the green pigment necessary for photosynthesis, the plant is dependent on other plants for survival. A "good" parasite does not kill its' host but it sure can weaken it!
