Ragworts color the roadsides golden in May and June. Note the spittlebug nest on the stem. The spittlebug nymph lives in the foam made from plant juices. This photograph was taken in Oak Ridge. Senecio spp. are poisonous to humans, goats, horses, sheep, and cattle.
