The first time I saw this plant was while we were hiking along the Kautz Creek trail. I thought it was another wildflower that had already bloomed, so I didn't bother to take a photo of it. When I got back to the cabin that night, I was scanning through my book and saw that it was an orchid! Luckily, two days later I found it again when I was searching for a Calypso orchid in the woods near Longmire. I didn't get so lucky on that one, it had already bloomed! My orchid search wasn't in vain though, while I was there I found the following little green orchid too! The difference in the flowers is in the lower petal shape, this one is forked, like a snake's tongue.
