Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Sphyrapicus varius
The first time I tried to take a photo of this bird the "bully" mockingbird chased him away. Unfortunately, this time I had one of the settings wrong on my camera, so I had to "doctor" this photo in Photoshop, it isn't as good as I would like. Hopefully, he will come back when I'm watching. These woodpeckers bore holes in the bark of many types of trees to drink the sap. They also eat any insects that are in the sap (see following photo). The yellow feathers on the belly are slightly visible in this photo.
