This is a common spider in the southeast. I found this one living in my parents' yard on a Passionflower vine in Florida. They don't spin a web, they wait for their prey to come to them. I saw one eating a bee.
Notice how the abdomen is thinner on the male than the female in the previous photo. The male also has large pedipalps which are used for mating.
