Ashford, WA June 23, 2009 This bird just would not cooperate with me to give me an opportunity to get a decent photo! Unfortunately, this was the best shot I could get. According to Craig, the owner of Mounthaven (and an avid birder), this is not a very common bird.

Bigfoot, TX April 1, 2009 I spotted this beautiful hawk in flight when we stopped so I could try and photograph a Loggerhead Shrike. I managed to catch this hawk between the power lines (how lucky was that?)! It was easy to identify in my bird book because of its distinctive white and brown wing patterns.
