Frasier's Sedge has monoecious flowers. The fuzzy staminate (male) flowers are at the top of the flower and the two-pronged pistils are below.
Sedge Family April 15, 2005 This plant looks like grass, but it is in the Sedge family. It is found in the Smokies and Appalachian Mountains of east Tennessee. The white flowers look a bit like mopheads! This plant was blooming along the Little River Trail in the Smokies. Perennial Where seen:Great Smoky Mountains NP, Ijams Nature Center
