Violet Family April 15, 2005 Canada Violet is considered a "stemmed" violet because the flowers grow from the plant stem. The flowers of these tall violets turn purple when they age. These violets are much taller than other violets, sometimes up to a foot tall. Frozen Head has many of these violets, they bloom in April. Perennial Where seen:Great Smoky Mountains NP, Oak Ridge Greenways, Norris Dam Sp, Frozen Head SP
Violet Family This is a stemmed violet, it is a cream color, it is not pure white. This plant is not as tall as the Canada Violet and the older petals don't turn purple. Cream Violets grow in damp soil. I found these blooming in the Smokies. Perennial Where seen:University of Tennessee Arboretum, Warriors' Path SP
