Snapdragon Family Blue Toadflax could easily be mistaken for a Lobelia (the Bluebell family), but a close look at the flowers will reveal that it is in the Snapdragon family. {Formerly known as: Nuttallanthus canadensis}

These were blooming along the shore of Melton Hill Lake at Clark Center Park in mid-May. The plant is in the Acanthus Family. The name "Loosestrife" comes from the ancient practice of draping these plants over the necks of yoked oxen to "loosen the strife" between the animals.
