Caper Family This unusual flower is a garden escape. The leaves and stems are very sticky and have an unpleasant smell. We had this plant in my yard when I was a child. Annual Where seen: Oak Ridge Greenways
It is interesting to look at the long protruding pistil. The curved anthers look a bit like a wishbone.
close-up This one is a combination of both flowers and bulblets. The bulblets drop to the ground and will grow new plants. The sprouted bulbs below ground will also produce new bulbs; that is why it is so hard to get rid of wild onions in a yard.
