These flowers have a nice smell. Sometimes this plant is grown on porches or trellises. I found this blooming in Oak Ridge in mid-August. Virgin's Bower contains the toxin ranunculin. Horses, cattle and sheep are affected if they eat the plant. The toxin can blister affected skin and mucous membranes.
