Potato (Nightshade) Family You'll have to look for this flower late in the evening. It opens at night and is pollinated by moths. Note the bright purple nectar guides. It has a very strong, unpleasant smell. All parts of T the plant are highly poisonous if ingested; it is a source of the drug belladonna (which means "beautiful lady" because the drug causes dilation of the pupils of the eyes). It also contains atropine, scopalamine, and hyoscyamine. Along with humans, horses, cattle, and goats are affected by the poisons.
