I found this plant blooming in Oak Ridge in early August. The honeybee is collecting nectar to take back to her hive. The flowers produce nectar to attract bees and other pollinators, in turn, the pollinators spread pollen from one plant to another which fertilizes the flowers. Honeybees are extremely important pollinators. Formerly known as: Ampelamus albidus Perennial Where seen: Oak Ridge
