Smartweed Family This plant is sometimes called Bamboo (although it is in the Buckwheat Family and Bamboo is in the Grass Family) due to the jointed stems. It can become an invasive plant. Evening Primrose Family These are very common roadside plants that bloom in August. I like the unusual white and pink flowers. They close by afternoon, so you have to go out early to see them.
