This is a common summer wildflower found along edges of woodland trails.
Snapdragon Family Note the 2 hoverflies -- the large one on the flower, the small one on the leaf. If you thought they were bees, don't feel bad, that's what they want you to think! Being flies, they don't sting! Perennial Where seen: Oak Ridge, Big South Fork
Notice the dark lines, these are the nectar guides that lead the hummingbirds to the nectar.
