Flagstaff, AZ August 26, 2010 This plant was photographed through a wire screen because it was being grown in a greenhouse at the Flagstaff Arboretum. The plant grows on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, but it is endangered.
Flagstaff, AZ August 26, 2010 We were the last people to leave the Flagstaff Arboretum, so the lady working at the counter took us to the woods near the parking lot to show us these odd mushrooms. She told us they are very tasty when cooked. She also told us they are actually an orange fungus that has parasitized a white Russula or Lactarius mushroom.
