Flagstaff, Arizona is a great place to stay for visitors who like nature. It is located at the base of Humphrey's and Agazziz Peaks, location of the Arizona Snow Bowl ski resort. It is also the home of the Lowell Observatory (where Pluto was discovered). We enjoyed visiting the Flagstaff Arboretum, Walnut Canyon and Sunset Crater National Monuments, hiking at Sandy's Canyon and nearby Meteor Crater.
I saw this Moth on the wall of a gas station in Arizona.
along the highway near Hoover Dam to no avail. When I mentioned to the park ranger at Lake Powell that we hadn't seen any, she said to go to a small park in Boulder City a couple of miles away. Since it is a haven with fresh green grass, the sheep often come there to graze. Sure enough, we were thrilled to see a large herd of rams, ewes and older lambs.
