Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 16, 2009 I found this sea star in a tide pool at low tide one morning and pulled it out just long enough to snap a couple of photos, then I returned it to the water. It is important to not collect living organisms, they will die when removed from their habitat and they smell terrible! This sea star appears to be growing a new arm where an old one was removed.
I was very surprised to find this Millipede on the beach on Sanibel Island!
Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 16, 2009 It was a real challenge to find these tiny, rice grain-sized white shells on the beach!
