Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 17, 2009 Like Kudzu and Honeysuckle in the southeast, Brazilian Pepper is one of the scourges of south Florida. It is highly invasive and crowds out many of the native plants. I photographed this plant at the hotel where we stayed.
I enjoyed watching this dolphin herding fish early one morning as I walked on the beach. It, and a couple of others, would swim rapidly then turn suddenly, throwing up a large plume of water.
This common sight is called the "Sanibel Stoop", people looking for seashells all day long.
