Boerne, TX March 29, 2009 This hawk had landed in a tree, but it was obscured by the branches, so I had to wait until it flew to get a photo.
We saw these Cormorants roosting in a large cottonwood tree along Cibolo Creek in Boerne, TX. It was about 7:30 in the evening when we saw them flying in from a day of fishing. The ones that arrived early had the best choice of branches, as more flew in they began to squabble over the roosting spots. It seemed amazing that a bird with webbed feet for swimming could perch on a branch to sleep.
