This windmill at Friedrich Nature Area was no longer in use, however we did see several on ranches that were turning and pumping water from the aquifer. Green energy at work!
that was about 12 miles away (on the outskirts of San Antonio). This photo is an example of what the trail was like --- very rocky. We were amazed at how small the trees were in the Hill Country. The only large ones we saw were the Cypress trees that grew along the rivers.
Kenny struggles to climb a steep part of the Vista Loop trail at Friedrich Wilderness Park. We sure slept good that night!
