Vegemite!

Our granddaughter tried a bite of Vegemite when we ate lunch at Mary Cairncross NP. Needless to say, she didn't like it! This Australian "food invention" is made from the yeast that settles to the bottom of the vats during the production of beer. It is very high in B vitamins, but it is so salty it is difficult to eat. I brought some home and tried spreading just a small amout on bread and adding a slice of cheese to the sandwich which made it a bit more edible!
