Germany 2017
We visited Germany for my niece's wedding in July 2017. Our trip included Munich, Oberammergau, Salzgitter Bad, and Hannover. We were thrilled to get to hike in the Alps at Oberammergau, where there were many wildflowers. I documented 180 different wildflowers on the trip, many were familiar roadside "weeds" that we see in the United States that were brought here by immigrants either by accident or on purpose. However, there were many new flowers that I had not seen before or ones I had seen in Norway or Alaska .
I had some small German wildflower books when I went there, I also bought a very good book that helped me identify nearly every different flower I saw!
English names or translations, when I know them, will be in parentheses. As you see the German names, see if you can figure out what they mean, some are humorous! German translations will be in quotations.
A few common German terms translated:
Echt(es) - true
Gewöhnlich(e),(es), (er) - common
Wiese(n) - meadow
Acker - field
