Flåm is a small town with a population of only about 300 people, but because of its beauty and the fact it is the beginning of the Flåm - Oslo railway it gets a LOT of tourists. We were amazed when we looked out the window of our hotel the day after we arrived (by ferry) to see this huge cruise ship at the dock. The fjords are very deep, so these large ships can enter them without running aground.
We learned of a nearby waterfall called the Brekkefossen that we could hke to from our hotel. We enjoyed this beautiful view of the valley along the way.
