Oak Ridge, TN July 31, 2009 I spotted this insect while I was at the University of Tennessee Arboretum. These are one of those "look, but don't touch" bugs, that large mouth can inflict a painful bite! They eat caterpillars and other insects. I think they should be called "Gear Bugs" instead of Wheel Bugs because of the round, toothed part of the thorax!
