spp. Oak Ridge, TN June 30, 2008 This Assassin Bug is wearing the black and white stripes of a "jailbird". It has pierced the abdomen of the small black wasp. I noticed it on my milkweed leaves late one evening.

spp. Gatlinburg, TN August 8, 2008 This strange little thorn-like insect was spotted on a Redbud branch. It was great to be with 18 other people (from Bugguide.net) who were accustomed to hunting for insects, 36 eyes are much better than 2! I wish I could have taken credit for finding this insect!
