, it had earlier been a nymph called a "hellgramite". The large, aquatic nymph is as scary looking as its name. (See next photo)
(Dobsonfly larva)! It is not hard to see that those wicked jaws could deliver quite an unpleasant bite. We found this one in a stream during the AMSE Science Camp.
