Leaf Skeletonizer Moths Hodges #8262 Oak Ridge, TN (Anderson Co.) September 18, 2009 I don't like taking photos of insects in specimen jars, but sometimes that's the best I can get. The photo I took of this moth on a flower did not show the blue abdomen. A student caught it during my Butterfly class. These insects look more like a wasp than a moth.
This is a close-up shot of the Tulip Tree Silk Moth's antennae. Many male moths have very feathery antennae to detect the pheremones of the females.
Geometrid (Inchworm) Moths Hodges #6740 Anderson Co., TN I had to get down on the ground to get this picture of this moth hiding under the leaves of this plant. When I first saw it I thought it was a flower!
