Tiger Moths Hodges #8111 Piney River SNA (Rhea Co.) June 17, 2007 According to the photos I've seen of this species, the wing patterns are highly variable. These moths are very skittish and don't stay still to be photographed for very long!
I was excited to catch this Hummingbird Moth and its look-alike, the Bumblebee, on the same Pickerelweed flower stalk at Ijams Nature Center. It shows the resemblance between the 2 insects.
