was completed. The following photos were taken during the community open house Aug. 18, 2008. Education is very important in Oak Ridge. ORHS is consistently ranked among the top secondary schools in the nation. When the 50-year old school began showing its age, the community, the labs, and local businesses rallied behind the fund raising effort for a nearly complete overhaul of the building. Even though the school's colors are maroon and gray, ORHS is now "green". Every effort to utilize energy saving technology was used. 200 geothermal wells were dug in front of the school to be used in heating and cooling the school. Skylights and large windows provide much of the light for the classrooms and media center.
