are one of the great treats to be found in the Smokies during the late summer and early autumn. They are delicious to nibble on along the trails in the high elevations, just be sure to leave a few for the bears!
These horseshoe door-hinges were found on one of the old historic buildings at the Oconoluftee Visitors Center.
reminded us of a scene from the Flintstones! :) The tables are made of solid sheets of metamorphic rock and the benches are made of split logs. They didn't appear to have been used much! There were more modern tables in another part of the picnic area too!
