Arum Family June 24, 2006 Moss Landing, CA It seems strange to see what my mother calls "funeral lilies" growing in the wild near the coast of California! They show up in some really out of the way places, like in the branches of this fallen tree.

Aster Family Elkhorn Slough June 30, 2006 These plants don't have very fancy flowers! The flowers dry after blooming, giving the plant its' common name.
