Eriocaulaceae Munson, FL August 5, 2006 These flowers seem like they should be related to daisies or dandelions, but they are not in the Aster family. They are very odd flowers. They are found in damp ground near lakes or ditches.
Gentian Family Munson, FL August 5, 2006 The pinewoods along the trail at Krul Lake Recreation proved to be a great resource for wildflowers. This was another new flower to add to my lifelist. The other Sabatias I have seen, such as Rose Pinks, are pink in color. I like the twisted pistils on these flowers!
Pea Family Milton, FL August 5, 2006 I had seen this pretty little flower in my Florida Wildflower book for years (I bought it in 1992) and admired it, so I was excited to finally see it "for real"!
