Nettle Family This is a monoecious plant; notice the greenish female flowers at the end of the stem and the cream-colored male flowers blooming lower on the stem. Wood Nettle likes damp areas, look for it near streams and low, wet areas. Caution: like its infamous relative, the Stinging Nettle, it has sharp spines. Look at this plant, but don't touch!
