June 29, 2012 I squealed with delight when I spotted this beautiful lily blooming along the trail as we were hiking to Rainbow Falls! It was one of my "target plants", a flower that I had wanted to see for many years. I was surprised to see it quite often in the Sierras after that day.
June 30, 2012 I love the name of this interesting little wildflower! The common name comes from the long, thin, round leaves. It is perfectly happy growing in the thin soil between the blocks of granite.
July 2, 2012 This species of sandwort grows at high elevations. I found this one in the White Mountains at 10,000 feet.
