Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 15, 2009 One of the good things about studying a wildflower for several years is that when I finally see a plant I often recognize it, I was happy to know what this one was when I saw it at Ding Darling Refuge.
Mallow Family Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 18, 2009 I was surprised to see that this plant is a tree! It has small bolls of cotton when it goes to seed. The plant has been used in China to make a male contraceptive. Hey, that sounds pretty good! ;)
