Pea Family Las Cruces, NM Oct. 5, 2008 I found this plant after the storm passed. Kenny was "resting his eyes" in the car (a.k.a. taking a nap!), so I took advantage of the time and wandered around looking for whatever the desert had to offer! This was a small plant, I nearly overlooked it.
Alamogordo, NM Sept. 30, 2008 This plant grew everywhere along the roadsides and in the desert. It had a very strong aroma that really got my allergies going! Many people complained about these flowers! They are quite pretty though and the insects loved them.
Las Cruces, NM Oct. 4, 2008 My cousin's wife, Sara, had an extensive native wildflower garden in their yard, I was able to photograph many flowers there. These flowers must be enjoyed early in the day, by afternoon, they begin to wilt. There is a very similar wildflower that grows in Florida, it is the same genus.
