Verbena Family Milton, FL August 5, 2006 I was surprised to learn this plant is native to Florida since it is often planted as an ornamental. On the pink varieties, the flowers change color after being pollinated. The green, unripe berries contain triterpenes are poisonous to dogs, cats, goats, sheep, cattle, and humans. Lantana can cause photosensitivity in white goats.
Lentibulariaceae Munson, FL August 5, 2006 I found these pretty little flowers blooming along the shore of Krul Lake. This is a carnivorous plant that traps small insects with underground leaves.
