Stickleaf Family Las Cruces, NM Oct. 6, 2008 I tried 3 days to catch this flower in bloom. It seems to have a very short blooming time. I finally got it around 5 PM.
Pea Family Las Cruces, NM Oct. 5, 2008 I found this plant after the storm passed. Kenny was "resting his eyes" in the car (a.k.a. taking a nap!), so I took advantage of the time and wandered around looking for whatever the desert had to offer! This was a small plant, I nearly overlooked it.
Alamogordo, NM Sept. 30, 2008 This plant grew everywhere along the roadsides and in the desert. It had a very strong aroma that really got my allergies going! Many people complained about these flowers! They are quite pretty though and the insects loved them.
