Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 15, 2009 This shrub grew on the beach at the back of our hotel. I love using Google Maps to search for hotels that have undeveloped areas nearby. Our hotel was in a more residential area with natural buffer zones between the buildings, which are great for exploring!
Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, FL Dec. 16, 2009 This plant was used in the landscaping around the sanctuary parking lot. I'm not sure why it is called "Bahama" Senna if the species name is mexicana!
Dogbane Family Sanibel Island, FL Dec. 18, 2009 I spotted this flower blooming along the railing to the Tarpon Springs Marina giftshop building. I had seen it in July 1997 when our family went to the Everglades.
