This bird is unmistakable with its long, split tail. I had a very hard time getting a photo, these birds wouldn't let me get too close. I must have looked pretty funny as I slowly stalked them often hiding behind utility poles!
Flycatchers land on powerlines, tree limbs, and even barbed wire fences to watch for flying insects. When they spot a fly, moth, or other insect, they dart out quickly to catch and eat it.
