Question Mark Butterfly - with closed wings
Polygonia interrogationis / Brush-footed butterfly Family

Note the small white "?" on the hindwing of this butterfly. Question Marks are in the Brush-footed butterfly family, these butterflies have only 4 legs visible, the front 2 are vestigial and not used for walking. I found this one at the University of Tennessee Arboretum on dog poop. These butterflies are well camouflaged with their wings closed, but very bright with them open. (See next photo)
